About the Kids Art Project

The Kids Art Project is about "children in hospitals" being the main characters.

Who We Are

Children always love to have fun, wherever they are, even in the hospital! Through creating art, they can enjoy their stay at the hospital, bond with each other, face their treatments, and bring cheer to their families.

What We Do

This project is about these children being the main characters, with the hospital as the stage. Art is drawn in the hospital and broadcasted from the hospital.

We hope to spread Art from hospital to hospital, to everyone's town, and to all over the world.

Join the Cause

We aim to support the project so that hospitals become a place where children feel comfortable and have fun while they receive their treatments by providing various art activities, improving the medical environment and enhancing treatment compliance.

Background

Medical care is provided for all kinds of diseases all over the world. However, it is also true that there are many patients who are forced to be hospitalized for a long time and must continue to face the disease for the rest of their lives. In addition, from the perspective of preventing infectious diseases, visitation is often restricted in the pediatric ward during hospitalization, and even siblings and grandparents cannot visit.

Children have to endure feelings of alienation and alienation. They believe that hospitals are places where the sick are treated and that people were entitled to endure painful treatments. If you recover and leave the hospital for a short period of time, you may be able to endure the painful treatment.

In pediatric medicine, environmental improvement and mental support are considered extremely important to improve treatment compliance (treatment acceptance). In some pediatric wards in Europe and the United States, colorful and fun pictures are drawn on the walls and desks, and various events are held in the hospital. Building a better treatment environment is just as important as treatment.

That's why we started this project. We want to bring happiness to children through art, improve healthcare environments, and help increase treatment compliance.

The Power of Art

Art Therapy

Karen Sue Pence became the second lady of the United States on January 20, 2017, succeeding Jill Biden.

She hired Kristan King Nevins as her chief of staff; Nevins had served in the same position under former First Lady Barbara Bush.

As second lady, Pence worked to raise awareness of art therapy, to which she was first exposed when visiting a Washington hospital during her husband's tenure as a congressman.

In October 2017, she visited the campus of Florida State University to highlight the university's art therapy program, which dates back to the1990s.
